MP3 Kelly - Shoes
Yo. I'm dying. I started a new temp job last week, and it took me a grand total of 3 days to catch the office lurgy. I'm now dragging myself into work each day (as I don't get sick pay being a casual) and climbing into bed upon arriving home. Yuck.
It was LCD Soundsystem at the Academy on Saturday, which as expected was absolutely fucking brilliant. You can read my review on the XFM site here. Anyway, check out the following tune, as the band did a cover on Saturday and it was ace.

PS - Thanks to:
James from Yer Mam! for sending me the MP3 and letting me know about the track itself.
Rachael from the Console for posting up pictures on her Flickr for me to steal.
It seems that the imminent arrival of pops latest saviour is upon us. Witness ladies and gentlemen, the genius that is Calvin Harris, who'll be knocking dancefloors all over the shop with his latest tune Acceptable in the 80's. OK, it's a naff title, but boy is it good, in a not-too-dissimilar way to Les Rhythmes Digitales. Ace ace ace.

Yo. Going through a couple of relics from my CD collection earlier, I came across a cover mount from an 10 year old Select magazine. It featured 10 tracks from Brighton's Skint label, and includes a track by a band called Hardknox, who despite once featuring a singer by the name of Lindy Layton (of Beats International fame) in their ranks, I'm sure have featured in a recent TV ad campaign. I haven't any idea which, though I've a feeling it might have been for a car advert? Give the tune a listen anyway and help me out.

While I'm rounding up the UK's contribution to the forthcoming South by South West Music Conference in Austin, I figure I may as well display an element of civic pride and concentrate on Manchesters contribution. Which brings me along to Bone-Box, who have been wowing local audiences for years with their alt blues and country. Their album "Death of a Prize Fighter" was released late last year to much critical acclaim. They're good mates of mine (I live with one of them) so I'm absolutely over the moon that they're going out to show everyone how good they are. Good luck guys (and gal).
