A friend in London introduced me to Mazzy Star at the turn of the century when I was an angst ridden 20 year old. At the time I was sort of lost musically, knowing what I liked but struggling to find it. And there it was, waiting to be thrust onto a Minidisc to keep my hour long journey to work that little bit more interesting.
Ear Farm have been continuing their series of live bootleg posts, which I must say are very good. Their latest post is a Mazzy Star show in LA from '94. Check it out here.
i first was introduced to mazzy star at exactly the wrong way for all the right reasons. my ex girlfriend sarah and i had broken up. we were together 6 months living between old town alexandria virginia and miami beach florida. i had bought her an ipod shuffle before we even hooked up and she used my laptop to download music to it. well the inevitable happened. spirit broken, i decided to listen to some of her music downloads. there it was..a music i had never known that i could relate too! so yet again there was the obvious, sarah and i had something in common again. thank you Mazzy Star! goodbye Sarah R. -misha
